Before coming to the police station you need to book an appointment and fill out the application form from home.

What to bring to the police station when applying for a Schengen visa
  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • Passport
  • Residence card (If you do not have a residence card, bring your residence permit. If your permit is under process, you need to bring the receipt from the immigration office).
  • Flight tickets
  • If you are travelling transit through another Schengen country besides Denmark, you need to submit a travel insurance (policy information).

     

  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • Passport
  • Residence card (If you do not have a residence card, bring your residence permit. If your permit is under process, you need to bring the receipt from the immigration office).
  • Flight tickets
  • Hotel booking (Hotel confirmation and name of the person on the reservation).
  • If staying with family or friends, letter of invitation
  • Travel plan/itinerary
  • Bank statement
  • Travel insurance (policy information)
  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • Passport

  • Birth certificate
  • Affidavit/declaration
  • Parents’ passport or driver’s license

If the child is travelling to a Schengen country that is not Denmark, they will also need:

  • Hotel booking (Hotel confirmation and name of the person on the reservation).
  • Travel plan/itinerary
  • Travel insurance (policy information)

 

If children are travelling with their school:

  • Confirmation from the school that they are travelling with the class
  • Permission letter from parents allowing the child to travel alone

 

If children are travelling with a group, for example a sports club:

  • Permission letter from parents allowing the child to travel alone

When applying for a Schengen visa you need to fill out the application form at home.

From the 1st of January 2025, applications for work permission and family reunification can only be submitted at the immigration office in Torshavn.

 

Visa applications can only be submitted between 10 and 13:30 weekdays. The process time for a Schengen visa is 15-45 days.

 

Short-Term Stays in the Faroe Islands (Tourist visa)

When a foreigner comes to the Faroe Islands and stays for less than 3 months, they must, upon arrival, present a valid travel document and have sufficient funds for their stay and return travel.

If the purpose of the stay in the Faroe Islands is not leisure, the foreigner must have a work permit to carry out paid or unpaid work or similar activities.

 

Passport

Nordic citizens are not required to present a passport.
Other foreigners must present a valid passport.
Foreigners from countries requiring a visa must have a visa valid for the Faroe Islands for up to 3 months, or a residence permit.
